MEET NEW HIP HOP ARTIST DALITERATE! Indie Artist featured on Knight House Radio!!

I was born  In Chicago IL @ Mercy Hospital on the south side  and my Parents named me David Jeremiah. I was raised on the south side of Chicago between the neighborhoods of Hyde Park Woodlawn & Chatam. I've always been pretty creative and artistic but more importantly I always wanted to be like my big brother Chris who use to fascinate me with his freestyling skills. My Lyricism really all started emerging for me when I wrote a poem for my big brothers obituary when I was in 8th grade.  From then through high school I wrote poetry mostly but raps here & there... But during this period other than a Iike 1 hook , I mostly engineered for my friends because I'm tech savvy. During that time as much as I longed to be on the tracks, I wasn't interested in rapping about things that weren't true like everyone else around me seemed to be at the time. Also I was In Marching Band Concert Band & Jazz Band in High school so I was able to excercise my musical  expression in concerts and competitions and I guess I didn't start pursuing music again until my voice became my instrument of choice. I play trumpet & Baritone also known as a Euphonium which if u dont know pretty much looks like a mini tuba. So  One day I wanna say in 2010 hit me like a ton of bricks the perfect name for me around 20 ,21 and I named myself DaLiterate da  being the first two letters in my name and Literate meaning just that the ability to read and write and & I consider myself symbol literate in this world of signs and symbols implicit and explicit .  I grew up listening to oldies stations because of my mother, so I definitely have influences such as the Beatles, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 Smokey Robinson Stevie Wonder Aretha Franklin Diana Ross and The Supremes the temptations the Four Tops The Isley Brothers  .  My affinity for smooth jazz soul and R & B is a direct result of my pops playing it nonstop and his automotive repair center, So I fell n love with Sade, Anita Baker, and learned to like Kemistry, Kenny G  and appreciation for @ the time what was call Grown Folks Muzik...lol... Apart from those influences, like i said i was in all the bands that were avaiable in my Hs so i definitely of my own aquisition developed a taste for jazz ,classical, symphony  orchestra's ...Right now I'm exploring some different sounds I'm doing a lot more singing and pretty much seeing what I can do with my voice or not trying to put myself in a box as well as incorporate some of my own live instrumentation... Ultimately I feel like my goal is to make timeless music that feels good that I feel good about making as far as quality content and sonically as far as stereo imagery. And that's exactly how I would like to describe my music now , timeless and meaningful, and playful in a sense of not being afraid to overextend myself into styles I'm not familiar with to produce a new sound. I'm currently working on touring the West Coast , Im planning a campaign and hit as many open mics as possible and possibly do some openers to the just get my name out there and let people hear what I have to say and see within the lens for which I look at the world, cuz just maybe they might be more alike than different seeing things similar and they can appreciate a perspective such as Daliterate's... you can find me pretty much everywhere at Daliterate Twitter at Daliterate
facebook.com/Daliteratesoundcloud.com/DaLiterate... also you can find me on youtube  search  Daliterate . and ladies feel free to snapchat me that if its kool...:D jk...lol... what's unique about my sound is it's sonically intriguing catchy and it's coming from a real place and real personal experience content wise and it's meaningful and of substance and multifaceted and multidimensional... thats what my consistency is and among other things that is what you can expect from me in the future, Seeing my name and me soon @ a Show, in a theater on the soundtrack TV theme song commercial YouTube video whatever else you could think of near you..;D
